The Makhlouf Haddadin Lectureship was inaugurated on March 18, 2015. The first Makhlouf Haddadin Lecture was given by Prof. Joseph W. Perry from the School of Chemistry & Biochemistry at Georgia Institute of Technology. Prof. Perry’s talk was entitled, “Organic and Hybrid Materials for Photonics and Electronics”.
Prof. Joseph W. Perry
Professor Joseph W. Perry is a Professor of Chemistry in the School of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Georgia Institute of Technology. He received his B.S. in Chemistry from the University of South Florida and obtained his Ph.D. in Chemistry at Caltech studying under Nobel Laureate Ahmed Zewail. He is a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the American Physical Society, and the Optical Society of America. Prof. Perry’s research has been cited over 14,000 times and he has an h-index of 51. His awards include a NASA Medal for Exceptional Scientific Achievement; Special Creativity Award, National Science Foundation; Materials Research Society Symposium X Lecturer; and Invited Professorship, Ecole Normale Supérieure de Lyon. Prof. Perry served as Topical Editor for the Journal of the Optical Society of America B from 2007 through 2009.
