Library Instruction Program
Request a Library Instruction Session
The Library Instruction Program aims to support AUB students in building their information literacy skills “set of abilities requiring individuals to recognize when information is needed and to have the ability to locate, evaluate, and use effectively the needed information” as defined by the Information Literacy Competency Standards for Higher Education and the Framework for Information Literacy in Higher Education.
  • Classes
The Communication Skills Program: sessions are offered on how to locate, evaluate and use library resources for assignments or research. Reserve a session for your class.  
Course or Major-related Sessions: customized sessions focusing on specialized research sources and electronic databases are offered upon faculty request to fit the needs of a course, a major or a discipline.

Research Guides 
Contact us to design a guide for your class
  • Individual
Individual Instruction: Research and Instruction Services Librarians provide direct in-person research assistance tailored to the specific research needs of each user
Library Workshops
  • Student Workshops: are offered throughout the semester and are open to all. They provide hands-on training on research skills, citation tools, and in specialized skills for graduate students.

  • Faculty- Special workshops: assist professors in integrating library resources and research guides through assignments and other course materials.

  • Check the Library Blog for upcoming library workshops. Workshops are usually announced by email and via UL social media channels.
Library Orientation
Orientation sessions: provided to new students and faculty, in coordination with other campus constituencies.

Library Tours
: offered to classes and individuals upon request.
